The YMCA of Regina had the 106th Annual General Meeting today, conducting board and organizational business to ensure the YMCA will continue build healthy communities over the next year. The AGM was held as a business luncheon at the Saskatchewan Hotel, and board members that had terms renewed on the YMCA of Regina Board of Directors include Danny Wilson, Judi Ash, and Peter Hamill. The YMCA of Regina Board of Directors also reported on the progress towards a new 3 year Strategic Plan.
The AGM also included an awards presentation for the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Program. This program awarded medals to deserving YMCA members, staff and volunteers across the country, recognizing the tremendous effort of these individuals to help have an impact on their community. The YMCA of Regina awarded 3 medals to volunteers who have had a significant impact on the lives of individuals in our community. These recipients were Michael Ryan, Judi Ash, and Sally Elliott.
Judi Ash, who was one of the three YMCA of Regina recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal award, also received the YMCA Fellowship of Honour Award (the highest award given to YMCA volunteers).
